Services & Fees

The following is a list of some of the services I provide. If you would like to inquire about working with me, please call my office at 781-749-2284. Depending on the type of services required, I bill on a project basis, an hourly basis, or a combination of both.

It is difficult to give precise information about fees without knowing the entire situation. However, as a consumer, I appreciate when businesses list fee information on their sites.  It is with that in mind that I give you a general range of fees.

Estate Planning Project-based billing.  Fees generally begin at $1050.00 for a single person and go up based on the complexity of the plan.  After we’ve gone over your situation at the initial meeting, I’ll present you with the planning options based on your goals, and let you know what the fees are.  You’ll be able to decide which plan works best for your family and your budget.  Services include:

  • Review and analysis of client’s situation, discussing of goals, wishes, and needs;
  • Planning for health care decisions in the event of incapacity;
  • Planning for continued management of finances in the event of incapacity;
  • Planning for care of children in the event of parents’ incapacity or death;
  • Planning for management of assets for minor children;
  • Planning for children (including adult children) with special needs to ensure continuation of vital services and benefits, and protection of assets;
  • Planning for disposition of property at death;
  • Drafting of legal documents to memorialize and legalize those goals.

Elder Law Project-based billing.  Fees generally begin at $2,000.00 and go up based on the complexity of the planning, the size of the estate and the tasks involved.  After we’ve gone over the entire situation at our initial meeting, I’ll let you know my recommendations and the fees involved so that you can make an informed choice. Services include:

  • Helping you cope with being overwhelmed,
  • Review and revision of estate plan;
  • Long term care planning;
  • Medicaid/MassHealth planning;
  • Assistance with Medicaid/MassHealth application filing;
  • Referral to other professionals as needed.

Estate Administration Hourly billing.  Current hourly rate is $250.00 per hour. Factors that impact fees are: size and complexity of estate; disposition of property; relationships among heirs. Services include:

  • Representation of Administrators and Executors of Estates;
  • Assistance with opening estate, gathering assets, filing Inventories and Accounts and distributing assets.
  • Assisting agents appointed under a Power of Attorney in carrying out their duties;

Guardianship/Conservatorship Hourly billing.  Current hourly rate is $250.00 per hour. Factors that impact fees are: ability obtain medical information; whether guardianship is contested; how property is held in conservatorship; whether additional planning is needed.  Total fees tend to begin around $4,000.00.  Services include:

  • Representation of persons bringing a petition for guardianship or conservatorship;
  • Assistance to guardians and conservators in fulfilling their reporting and accounting requirements with the court;
  • Counseling families on the possible alternatives to guardianship and conservatorship.

Certain cases involving the courts may require court-filing fees, and transactions involving real estate transfers will require Registry of Deeds recording fees.
